Underground Mine Managerfor one of their underground operations, based on the East Coast of Australia. This Australian Mining and Exploration Company wholly own and operate several operations, and with a highly effective operations team, and strong exploration activity, its never been a better time to join them.Your roleReporting to the General Manager your role will ensure key functions are supporting mining operations to maximise the value and cost efficiency of operations throughout the Life of Mine (LOM). You will assist to close down the current operation while simultaneously opening the newest and largest operation. Your role will play a key part in the growth of this underground mine and the projects associated with the long-term strategy of the organisation.
You will be responsible for managing the mining operations, including Maintenance, Engineering, and Geology.

Or 5 : 2 if you want to live residentially and be home every nightImpressive package with 30% STI and 20% LTIEmployee Share SchemeOpportunity to be apart of opening a new UG operation and a huge growth storyKey ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all incidents are reported in a timely manner and investigated appropriatelyMaintain a positive relationship with the NSW Resource Regulator and ensure all regulatory requirements and industry standards are metPrepare budget / Forecast mine physicals with appropriate assumptions for dilution, recovery, grades and costs.Operate within budget operatingand capitalcostsEnsure the LOM plan is based on the Resource and Reserve in collaboration with Geology.Coordinate the strategic planning function to ensure annual and rolling mining schedules adhere to LOM objectives.Your skills & ExperienceBachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Mining Engineering or related disciplineGreater than 10 years mining experience with at least two years in underground gold miningMinimum 2 years of Technical Services experience (mine design and scheduling) and minimum 6 years experience in Operational Management and supervisory rolesCurrent NSW Mining Engineering Manager (underground metalliferous mines) Certificate of Competency or Practicing Certificate, or Mine Managers Certificate of Competency issued by another Australian State that is recognised in NSW, or the ability to obtain a NSW MEM Certificate of Competency within 3 months of commencing the roleMembership of a professional body (AusIMM is desirable)Chartered Professional status in Mining Engineering is desirableProven management experiencePrevious experience with managing mining contractorsFamiliar with mining software (Deswik), Microsoft office, & Pronto (desirable)Proven ability to create, maintain and operate within budgetsNext StepsNatasha Lee Senior Mining Consultant at Resourceful Recruitment on the details below :
