CENSW is a registered community housing provider and peak body for housing co-operatives in NSW. Established in 2009, it supports thirty-one rental housing co-operatives across NSW, managing over 500 properties.

As a Director, you will contribute at a strategic level to an organisation with real community impact. We welcome and value fresh perspectives that help strengthen our approach.

We're seeking an individual with the following skills and attributes Ideally, experience in the housing, property development, co-operatives and mutuals and / or the not-for-profit sector(s)

A strong alignment with Common Equity's vision and values, together with the passion and time to commit to a 3-year term

Previous Board experience will also be viewed favourably

The role at a glance Uphold essential fiduciary director duties to act with care and diligence, in good faith and in the best interests of CENSW.

Deliver strategic insights, responsible financial and risk management, and compliance oversight to ensure the long-term performance and sustainability of the organisation.

A nominal payment for meeting attendance is provided, in addition to reasonable reimbursement of expenses.

Directors are expected to attend 6 in person Board meetings per year and participate in one sub-committee of the Board (six online meetings per year).

Other commitments may include an annual strategic planning day, risk workshop, AGM and Board Co-op visits.
