  • About the Role
  • As the Head of Department, you will
  • Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
  • Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division
  • Develop the quality of teaching and learning
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
  • The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.The key responsibilities of the role will include :

  • Leading the planning and enactment of the curriculum across all phases of learning within the college, and the leading of improved pedagogical practices for positive learning environments. This includes;
  • 7-10 Australian Curriculum developed and implemented with fidelity
  • Senior curriculum development leadership
  • Strategic evaluation and support of the moderation cycles across faculties
  • Analysis of student data and development of strategies for improved student outcomes
  • Development of staff expertise in Essential skills for Classroom management and whole of college consistent practices supported through profiling protocols
  • Visible leadership, capability develop of staff through coaching processes
  • Leadership of implementation of college instructional moves supported through instructional rounds, learning walks, lesson observations.
