About your role

We are looking for a Category Specialist – Infrastructure to assist with the development and implementation of the Global Technology Infrastructure category strategy globally. This will involve significant engagement and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that the commercial outcomes align with business needs and requirements.

This role is a great opportunity for a commercially minded individual, who has credible experience, has an appetite to resolve complex supply chain challenges, can visualise the ‘bigger picture’ and is results driven through the delivery of sustained and tangible value. Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Technology Infrastructure, you will be :

Contributing to rigorous ‘fact base’ development based on external / internal dynamics that will be the basis of the category strategy development and implementation, contract implementation and contract / supplier management.

Lead and deliver strategic technology infrastructure sourcing projects.

Undertake supplier relationship management (SRM) activities with preferred suppliers.

Build and manage effective relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders.

Provide commercial leadership and guidance to broader organization in relation to the category.

Build and grow relationships with category suppliers to drive innovation and value.

Collaborate with other areas of the broader technology procurement team who support the category.

Possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to influence and manage potential conflict in a constructive and effective manner – as well as being a key team contributor.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have :

Strong alignment to Rio Tinto’s values of courage, care and curiosity

Prior experience in end-to-end Procurement with deep knowledge of IT Infrastructure in a global domain is preferred

We encourage applicants with strong IT technical expertise in such areas as networking or operational technology eager to grow their commercial acumen

Collaborative approach with ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities

Able to think and act strategically, manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize whilst delivering successful outcomes

Experience in developing strategies and business recommendations leading to positive outcomes

Proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously whilst being a strong contributor within a global team
