What are we looking for?Our Industrial and Employment Law (IER) Lawyers assist our clients with workplace disputes, disciplinary investigations, unfair dismissals, employment contract reviews, employment separation agreements, underpayment claims, bullying and discrimination complaints and other employment related claims.If you have experience in employment law, or have a passion for industrial relations, then this could be exactly what you are looking for.
This position will have you form part of our wider National IER team, and have you based in Perth.Ideally you will have some prior knowledge of employment law and have a strong trade union understanding. An understanding of the political landscape is desired.
Previous practicing experience particularly in the employment and industrial law sector including appearances in the relevant jurisdictions. Have a proactive, passionate and results driven nature.
A typical day will have you responsible for the following :
Clients : liaise with clients to understand case issuesmanage expectations independently; seeking guidance where appropriateconduct and manage new client enquiriesmaintain regular and open communication with clients.Working with others : liaise with other lawyers, counsel and external experts as required to clarify and resolve complex legal issuessupervise and work with legal support staffDay to day : produce quality letters of advice, in a timely mannerdraft court documents when requiredconduct file reviews to identify any key issuesWhat will you bring?Ideally, you will have the following skills and attributes :
