The Planning and Development Directorate is responsible for the sustainable and responsible development of the City's neighbourhoods - both residential and commercial. This high performing team deals with a wide range of interesting planning matters to help shape the future of the City for over 234,000 residents and visitors.

  • About the Position
  • We are seeking a dynamic and professional Economic Development Officer to join our Economic Development team on a maximum term contract to cover parental leave. Reporting to the Senior Economic Development Officer, you will play a key role in driving sustainable economic development and tourism initiatives within the City.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • As an Economic Development Officer, you will :

  • Planning and Implementation
  • Assist in planning and implementing economic development and tourism projects.
  • Stakeholder Liaison
  • Liaise with government and business stakeholders.
  • Marketing and Promotion
  • Market the City as a prime business location.
  • Resource Attraction
  • Attract external resources and funding.
  • Customer Service
  • Provide high-level customer service to stakeholders.
  • About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Business Development, Tourism, Marketing or equivalent, or experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in project management and coordination of economic development or tourism projects.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • This temporary full-time position is a Level 7 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from

  • 96,731 to $101,823
  • gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
  • To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a
  • A copy of Australian driving licence
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
  • Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
