The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. Based in Acland, a short drive north-west of Toowoomba NAC has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002. NAC has been an important contributor to the local community, supporting social and community projects, local partnerships, information sharing, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
As we continue to invest and partner with our community, we are excited to offer the next great opportunity for a Landholder Liaison Officer to join our team based in our NAC Community Information Centre, in Oakey. This role will be instrumental in continuing to facilitate communication and engagement between NAC and landholders.
What You Will Be Doing
As a key member of our Community team, you will establish and maintain constructive working relationships with landholders and ensure their concerns are addressed respectfully and transparently.
You Will Achieve Success By
Providing clear and accurate information and updates to landholders regarding project activities, timelines and impactsFacilitate and conduct field visits to understand land use, foster long-term relationships and promote genuine collaborationCollaborating with site personnel on current and emerging landholder issues to ensure impacts are considered during project and operational planning and activitiesSupporting the negotiation and management of land access agreements, ensuring compliance and best practiceMaintaining detailed records of landholder interactions and commitmentsProviding support at NAC community events and initiatives as required
What You Will Need To Succeed
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to adapt communication as neededGenuine commitment to building positive working relationships and trust with landholdersGood problem solving-skills, ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders.Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with landowners.Knowledge of rural and agricultural / farming land use practices and good understanding of rural communitiesCurrent Working with Children Check or ability to obtainCurrent 'C' Class Drivers Licence
