Our National Graduate Program – Digital and Technology Stream is a tailored 12-month rotational program in the Digital and Technology Division, Simplified Trade System (STS) Unit along with many more opportunities.
You will gain access to our fantastic mentoring program, where a dedicated in-house mentor will be provided to you for the entire year, providing you with support to integrate seamlessly into our agency.

The Digital and Technology Services division delivers contemporary, robust and integrated digital and technology solutions for Austrade. We are business partners who deeply understand the business and work collaboratively to develop and deliver robust, integrated, and contemporary capabilities through tools, platforms and infrastructure. We are evolving Austrade by bringing digital experiences to the forefront of our business.
The STS Unit is responsible for whole-of-government coordination of the STS reforms, working with industry and agencies across government to design and deliver digital and regulatory reforms that simplify and secure trade outcomes across Australia’s border.

Austrade Graduates can be based on the lands of the Kaurna People (Adelaide), Jagera and Turrbal People (Brisbane), Ngunnawal and Ngambri People (Canberra), Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Eastern Kulin (Melbourne) and the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation (Sydney) and will commence in early 2026.
PROGRAM DETAILS
You will complete three placements getting first-hand and broad experience as part of a team delivering on the Government and Austrade’s strategic priorities in a digital and technology role and contributing to the economic prosperity of Australia.
The Digital and Technology Stream gives you an opportunity to excel in a digital or technical career after you have graduated from university. As a Graduate you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills while working on priority projects and lifting Australia’s economic prosperity. As a global organisation you will be working with a diverse range of people.
You will also gain access to our fantastic mentoring program, where a dedicated in-house mentor will be provided to you for the entirety of the year, ensuring you are supported and integrated into Austrade.
