Job description

Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic or Fitter for mining component and machine rebuilds for a Leading workshop. A full-time, permanent role within a growing organization. Monday to Friday,

  • Requires : At least 3 years of experience servicing large-scale earthmoving or mining equipment.
  • Salary guide : $40 - $50 per hour + overtime, depending on experience.
  • Newcastle Region, New South Wales
  • Sponsorship available for the right candidate with the required experience.

Your normal day will involve :

  • Servicing, repairing, and rebuilding a wide range of heavy-duty mining and construction equipment following OEM guidelines.
  • Fault-finding and diagnosing equipment malfunctions, either independently or in consultation with the team to determine the best repair methods.
  • Accurately processing returns of unused or irreparable materials
  • Only day shifts in the workshop

    You will need :

  • Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience with heavy machinery, ideally within the mining industry.
  • Relevant Trade Qualification in Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic works.
  • Experience in servicing, diagnosing, and fault identification in large-scale earthmoving equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system drawings and schematics.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Current Australian driver’s license.
  • Permanent residency in Australia.
  • Advantageous : CAT dealer training is highly regarded.
