KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To process payroll for multiple clients, on various accounting software
  • Bookkeeping will be required for some of the clients as well
  • Ability to expand the work to more bookkeeping - training is available if required
  • Answering the phone and attending to queries as needed
  • Reconciliation of clearing accounts - payroll specific
  • Maintain a client workflow Masterfile and ensure all client work for the office is scheduled and completed
  • Some PA work will be required
  • Adhoc duties as required
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Required Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting or above.
  • Required Experience
  • At least 4 years' experience in a similar role - with payroll being a primary part. All aspects of Accounts Experience are required.
  • Experience with Xero Software - excellent understanding
  • Experience with QBO Software - excellent understanding
  • Experience with MYOB Software - excellent understanding
  • Experience with Reckon Accounts - some understanding
  • Experience with Receipt Bank (Dext) software preferred but not required
  • Experience with multi-currency highly preferred
  • Eye for detail and exceptional communications skills
  • Skills with Excel and Word
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Sound understanding of Chart of Accounts and the allocation of transactions to correct accounts
  • Ability to be co-operative and follow direction from management, be a team player and have a can-do attitude
  • Performance Goals
  • To accurately process all client payrolls in a timely manner.
  • Time allocation will be given with each client.

  • If bookkeeping as well - to show consistency in account allocation and tax code allocation. Errors must be mínimal and not repeated
  • Maintain accurate and correct reconciliation of all accounts that are required to be reconciled - specifically payroll accounts
  • Reconcile superannuation, PAYG, payroll clearing and any other payroll accounts
  • Maintain the client workflow and ensure all work is completed by allocated staff
