Level A) $78,544 to $105,611 or (Level B) $111,031 to $131,335 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% Superannuation applies.

Fixed-term, full-time position for 2 years.

The School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics & Photonic Integrated Circuits. Working in the Precision Measurement Group, you will work towards using photonic integrated circuit light sources to develop compact, lightweight, and low-power optical clocks on a single chip.

This position is suitable for candidates with a PhD or equivalent in physics, electrical, and electronic engineering, or related disciplines. The successful candidate will contribute to miniaturizing high-precision optical clocks using photonic chip technology, focusing on :

• Exploring narrow linewidth chip-scale laser sources for atomic transition probing and locking.
• Using stabilized microcombs at atomic transition wavelengths for clock signal readout.
• Characterizing optical clocks using these sources and microcombs.

The candidate will engage in experimental and theoretical work, collaborating with institutions such as IPAS and the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
