  • The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is an independent statutory authority established by the Australian Government to maintain an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs.

    • The Team
    • You will join a group of a highly committed and collaborative professionals that work in the Organisational Transformation Group. The Group is responsible for the delivery of a modernisation agenda that will see the AEC transition away from monolithic legacy systems onto contemporary platforms. You will be working closely with Assistant Commissioners, Directors and other Executive Support staff in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.     • The Opportunities
    • We are looking for a number of highly motivated and enthusiastic Branch Project Officers to provide high-level administrative support to the respective Assistant Commissioner and the wider group.

      You will be responsible for providing high-level executive support in a professional, accurate and timely manner. You will undertake work that is complex and sensitive in nature, utilising expertise and knowledge in liaison, coordination, and organisational tasks.

      You will also provide support to ensure all administrative requirements associated with key election deliverables are adhered to.

      To excel you'll have :

    • Exceptional organisational and communication skills to proactively manage daily workflow and competing requests, ensuring clear, timely and effective co-ordination.
    • Sound judgement and show a high degree of initiative, integrity and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive business matters.
    • Confidence and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority both in writing and verbally.
    • Demonstrated experience providing highly organised coordination, governance, and administrative support, including the ability to prioritise work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
    • Well-developed computer and telephony skills, including strong experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Desirable :

    • Prior experience using whole-of-government online travel booking tools and financial management solutions.

    • AEC employees must be Australian citizens.
    • Any person who is, and seen to be active in political affairs, and intends to publicly carry on this activity, may compromise the strict neutrality of the AEC and cannot be considered.
