Job description

General Duties

  • Execute works in compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and method statements.
  • Review design specifications and escalate any issues to the Foreman / Ganger.
  • Carry out and document site-specific risk assessments.

Site Safety and Preparation

  • Conduct risk assessments for signage, guarding, and traffic management.
  • Ensure safe working practices around buried third-party plant.
  • Maintain equipment in safe, working order.
  • Set up and maintain a safe site environment, always prioritising pedestrian, and public safety.

    • Operational Tasks

  • Excavation : Safe and compliant excavation practices.
  • Main & Service Laying : Follow proper procedures for laying various mains and services.
  • Confined Spaces : Work safely within confined space environments.
  • Hard Landscaping & Concrete Works : Carry out tasks to high standards.
  • Plotworks, Street Works, and Street Furniture : Perform installations and maintenance as required.
  • Electrofusion & PE Butt Fusion :
  • Execute proper joining techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Pressure Testing : Conduct safe pressure testing and document results.
  • Contaminated Ground Handling : Use appropriate materials and report changes in conditions.
  • Sewer Pipe Laying & Chamber Construction : Carry out in line with industry standards.

    • Work Execution Process

  • Complete and update site-specific risk assessments.
  • Set up job sites efficiently.
  • Ensure job pack documentation is completed and returned.

    • Qualifications & Experience

  • CPCS Card
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Prior experience in groundworks or civil engineering construction is essential.
