Product Development Specialist

The Role You Will Play

As we continue to grow our award winning MECCA-Maginations brands (signature lines), we have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Product Development Specialist!

Working along side the Product Development Manager you will drive innovation with a thorough well-planned timeline, responsible for ensuring all products are delivered with the highest quality standards, on time and meeting commercial requirements. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to coordinate New and Existing Product Development (PD) across multiple categories, including Skincare, Suncare, Bodycare and our Holiday offer, with a focus on MECCA Cosmetica.

We are seeking an experienced, self-driven and collaborative Product Development (PD) Specialist to project manage new and existing developments across Mecca Signature Line brands, with responsibilities including :

Support the calendarized pipeline of PD projects and drive them forward for expansion into new and existing categories

Takes ownership over assigned projects to ensure all developmental milestones are achieved

Drive the seamless integration between all Operational, R&D, Creative, Marketing processes and functions involved in developing and launching new products

Brief vendors on specific innovation and schedule meetings with vendors for ongoing development management

Research competitive marketplace for new products

Contribute to the Quality Control of all new product development for MECCA Brands, ensuring suppliers clearly understand and uphold our standards in all manufacturing

What You Will Bring

Along with having experience in PD, an affiliation with beauty and a passion for project managing new developments, you also live the MECCA values, being passionate about our company, product development and our Signature Line brands.

You will also be able to demonstrate :

A strong understanding of the product development process and attributes of cosmetic chemistry

Experience in a production environment & interaction of packaging, process, manufacturing as well as an understanding of quality and regulatory requirements

A general understanding of the componentry development process and attributes of typical types of primary packaging used cosmetic products

An ability to think creatively and brainstorm new approaches, ingredients, or ideas

The ability to effectively work across a high volume of detail and juggle an array of projects and deadlines.

That you are detail oriented, organised and love developing and maintaining efficient processes and strong project management principles.

Energetic, enthusiastic and passionate with strong communication skills

Have a ‘hands on’ attitude to do whatever it takes to support the wider team in any capacity.
