Maintenance Team Leader

Unity Housing are a reputable not-for-profit organisation that provide affordable, safe and secure homes for South Australians on low incomes. They are one of the fastest growing community housing organisations in Australia with multiple sites across the state that serve a range of purposes, including community, transitional, disability and boarding houses. Unity Housing's mission is to contribute to building a sustainable housing system for individuals, the environment and the community. Their offices are currently in Norwood and are moving into a new purpose-built office in Bowden before the end of the year.

• About the Role

As the Maintenance Team Leader, you will lead and engage with an established team of seven Maintenance Coordinators and oversee the delivery of scheduled and unscheduled property maintenance. This newly created role reports to the Assets Manager and will contribute to the strategy and continuous improvement of processes within the organisation.

• Duties
• Manage and lead direct reports in timely delivery of high quality services
• Problem solving escalations that fall outside of organisational policies and procedures
• Monitor and audit contractor quality of work outcomes in line with policies and procedures
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement for internal processes
• Ensure activities in team are consistent with annual plans and budgets
• Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated management experience in an operations or project function
• Demonstrated ability to lead and engage a team
• Experience in housing or relevant industry (i.e. trades, property management, building, manufacturing) highly desirable
• Service-oriented approach to work with a strong desire to give back to the community
