Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Associate Director, Digital Portfolio Management Office to join, Academic Division.

In this role, you'll provide effective strategic and operational leadership to a diverse team of technology professionals. You'll feel empowered in managing digital portfolio activities and investments across QUT including governance, investment planning, assurance, education and benefits tracking.

You'll provide insightful direction to the Portfolio Management Office, ensuring value adds relevant to QUT strategy. You'll play an essential role in fostering a product-oriented culture and mindset across the University.

  • Administrative Division supports the governance and operations of the University, including planning and quality, facilities and services for students and staff. The Administrative Division is led by the Vice-President (Administration) and University Registrar.

  • Digital Business Solutions (DBS) provides support for staff and students across a range of information and technology services. DBS uses technology to create value for our students and customers through the portfolios of Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Professional Services.

    DBS embraces digital transformation as being fundamental to our service in supporting QUT's aspirations outlined in Blueprint 6.

    DBS is responsible for a wide range of services in delivering and supporting digital solutions for QUT. DBS comprises seven business units with dynamic knowledge and expertise that work collectively with the University's Faculties, Institutes and Divisions to provide quality Digital Solutions and Services in support of both QUT's Strategic Objectives and in core operations for learning and teaching, research and innovation and professional services.

  • As a strong communicator, you will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and communicate the shared QUT Values in your approach to work.

    You will demonstrate :

  • Relevant education, training and / or experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications in a related discipline together with extensive experience in operational and strategic management in leading a portfolio management function.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage human resources in a large organisation, including the ability to lead, develop, coach and empower a team of staff to drive a high-performance culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, analyse and implement decisions across organisational units in a collaborative manner to effectively execute key business initiatives and achieve organisational goals which comprise complex policy and operational aspects.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and build constructive and strategic partnership relationships.
  • Proven ability to listen and support people in problem identification and decision-making, creating an environment of mutual influence, where influence is through persuasion rather than authority.
  • Sound knowledge of equal employment opportunity and equity principles and of the principles of health safety and environment with a demonstrated commitment to implementation at both the strategic and operational levels.
