The business is renowned for its strengths in compliance, QHSE and information management, alongside its specialist expertise in energy logistics.
They are currently seeking to appoint a Queensland State Manager to lead the Qld team, including operations, finance, sales and marketing, driving operational efficiencies and delivering strategic business objectives.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a business-critical role that requires at least 10 years' experience in project logistics or freight forwarding, and strong business knowledge of Oil and Energy industries.
- Your key responsibilities will
- be to
- Lead and manage the Operations, Finance and Sales and Marketing teams
- Develop and manage new markets and opportunities throughout the state
- Collaborate with other regional managers to promote and develop the business nationally and internationally
- Coordinate with the organisation's offices and agents across the globe as required
- Build, develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients and vendors
- Manage the P&L for all cost centres in the state, including analysis, interpretation and recommendations
- Present regular reports to the Managing Director
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Receivable function to deliver optimum cashflow
- Develop and manage required budgets and forecasts
- Provide support to operations to drive efficient cargo movements via air, sea & road freight
- Manage commercial negotiations and contractual terms
- Facilitate monthly payment claims through detailed operational reporting
- Engage with and support internal stakeholders including QHSE & Compliance, HR, Finance and IT
- Participate and contribute to Senior Leadership Team meetings
- Travel regionally, interstate and internationally as required
- What you will bring to the role
- Ideally tertiary qualifications in business or management (or progression towards)
- Significant
- experience within a Project Logistics or Freight Forwarding environment
- Strong business knowledge within Oil and Energy operations, Mining, Heavy Machinery, Marine, Building and Construction industries
- Strong commercial and financial skills with proven ability to develop and implement business structures
- Knowledge of general freight forwarding, break bulk, heavy lift, over dimensional & special project cargo
- Advanced negotiation and relationship building skills
- Experience influencing and engaging key figures in client organisations
- High attention to detail and strong planning and organising skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Current unrestricted drivers licence
