About the Role
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our dedicated team. This full-time position requires a skilled professional who takes pride in their workmanship, communicates well with both colleagues and customers, and can work independently while supporting a collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspensions, and steering components
- Perform scheduled logbook servicing and preventative maintenance
- Dismantle and reassemble engines, gearboxes, and drive systems
- Use scan tools and computer diagnostics to identify and resolve electrical and electronic faults
- Conduct roadworthy inspections and prepare vehicles for registration and compliance
- Perform wheel alignments and balance tyres as required
- Repair and replace exhaust systems, cooling systems, and fuel system components
- Test drive vehicles to identify faults and confirm successful repairs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service history
- Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organized
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding required repairs, costs, and timelines
- Support and mentor junior apprentices as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations
Qualifications & Experience
Trade qualified (Minimum Certificate III / IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology)Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience in automotive mechanical repairsStrong diagnostic and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work with a wide variety of vehicle makes and modelsExcellent attention to detail and time management skillsGood communication and teamwork skillsPositive attitude and customer-focused mindsetRequirements
