About the Role

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our dedicated team. This full-time position requires a skilled professional who takes pride in their workmanship, communicates well with both colleagues and customers, and can work independently while supporting a collaborative team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspensions, and steering components
  • Perform scheduled logbook servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Dismantle and reassemble engines, gearboxes, and drive systems
  • Use scan tools and computer diagnostics to identify and resolve electrical and electronic faults
  • Conduct roadworthy inspections and prepare vehicles for registration and compliance
  • Perform wheel alignments and balance tyres as required
  • Repair and replace exhaust systems, cooling systems, and fuel system components
  • Test drive vehicles to identify faults and confirm successful repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service history
  • Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organized
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding required repairs, costs, and timelines
  • Support and mentor junior apprentices as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade qualified (Minimum Certificate III / IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology)
  • Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience in automotive mechanical repairs
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of vehicle makes and models
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
  • Requirements

  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (manual preferred)
