Job Description

  • Full Time position - Microbiologist
  • Morning Shift - Weekdays (11am - 7pm)

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in :

Commercial food lab environments

Microbiological confirmations and identifications

PCR / Maldi TOF analysis and molecular methods

Accurate reporting and data interpretation.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-compliance setting.

Maintain a strong understanding of Eurofins’ quality management system and actively support compliance with laboratory quality standards and ongoing NATA accreditation requirements.

Support the efficient laboratory operation by performing additional tasks as needed to meet output targets and budget requirements.

Contribute to the training and development of staff in microbiological services.

Carry out other duties as directed by the Laboratory Team Leader.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Microbiology or equivalent qualification; or equivalent Microbiology experience.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in NATA accredited commercial laboratory.
  • Experience in PCR / results reading & confirmation. NATA signatory will be added advantage.
  • Experience in using different equipment / instrumental and sample preparation techniques.
  • Technical knowledge in the relevant scientific discipline.
  • Good knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Experienced using LIMS system.
