Contract start : 14 November 2023 to 30 June 2024, with 3 x 12 months extensions. Location : Canberra. The Indigo Program is a broad initiative within the AEC, focused on translating business vision and strategy into effective enterprise change, particularly modernising business capabilities supported by legacy ICT systems. The program aims to improve ICT solutions by replacing legacy components and reducing technical duplication, complexity, and inefficiency.
As part of the 2023-24 Budget, the Government approved funding for the first phase of Tranche 2 of the Indigo Program, a four-year plan to replace the agency's legacy Elections Management Systems.
The Master Scheduler will support the Indigo Program Planning and Reporting team by managing the program schedule, including participating in planning activities for short- and long-term projects.
Responsibilities include developing, preparing, and maintaining high-quality documentation such as the program schedule, understanding report development cycles, and working with report owners on data visualisation techniques, often with limited supervision.
The Master Scheduler will :
Lead the development, preparation, and maintenance of the program schedule. Support and oversee schedules, plans, task coordination, dependencies, and timeline / critical path monitoring, in consultation with stakeholders. Work with stakeholders to maintain, monitor, and report on the master program schedule. Produce high-quality documentation for status reports for executives and steering committees. Ensure attention to detail and manage quality assurance in correspondence, briefs, presentations, and reports. Evaluate program activity progress, identify risks, and develop intervention procedures. Provide accurate advice, guidance, and reporting on schedule management. Support strategic improvements in program scheduling and reporting artifacts to meet stakeholder needs. Make decisions using good judgment, expertise, and knowledge, following legislation and best practices. Perform additional duties as assigned. Applicants must address the following selection criteria :
Experience developing and managing schedules in large-scale programs. Experience working in programs / projects, preferably using SAFe Agile methodology. Strong communication and documentation skills, capable of preparing executive-level documents. Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project. Experience in developing strategic reports for senior leadership. Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change under pressure.
