The person will lead by example, capable of working with and supervising tyre fitters, appreciate their role in delivering customer service, possess initiative and drive, demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their management skills and knowledge. Specifically the role is accountable for :

OVERALL OBJECTIVES

  • Lead tyre fitters to perform tyre fitting and workshop maintenance tasks in the most efficient, safe and cost-effective manner
  • Work with the Site Supervisor to ensure completion of scheduled and unscheduled work and liaise with the Client, taking pride and ownership in delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Ensure that tyre fitters comply with Otraco and Client policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Lead tyre fitters in maintaining tyre operating pressures in accordance with site specifications
  • Provide and maintain a quality service to the client
  • Leading by example to ensure all personnel comply with site and company policies, procedures, instructions and Golden Rules
  • TECHNICAL OBJECTIVES

  • Perform administrative tasks as instructed. These may be documented in site specific regular task lists and may include roster management, leave records, overtime sheets, filing, data backups and submissions to Head Office as required.
  • Ensure that tyre and rim data is accurately captured into the Otracom tyre management database
  • Monitoring and ordering stock to maintain specified levels
  • Verify that all stock and equipment ordered is correctly supplied in terms of quantities and specifications
  • Maintain, file and archive quality documents
  • Lead the tyre fitters in performing equipment calibration procedures according to the OMS
  • Perform Inspections and determine if components should be scrapped, repaired or remain in service
  • Mount and strip any type of tyre and rim assembly according to procedures
  • Repairs tyres and tubes according to procedures
  • Clean, paint and crack test rim components according to procedures
  • Lead tyre fitters in maintaining tyre operating pressures in accordance with site specifications
  • Perform corrective action requests (CAR's) from auditors
  • Lead tyre fitters in maintaining a high quality of service to the client
  • Facilitate a positive and productive Pre-start, along with coaching on Take 5's and JHA's to your team
  • Ensure trainees and new employees have support and required coaching to perform their role
  • Understands Otraco's KPI's as per Site Tyre Management Strategy
  • Ensure that upon receipt, all new tyres are inspected for faults or damage, including damage incurred in-transit and reported directly to the client.
  • Where required assist site supervisor with reporting, inventory trackers and audits
  • Maintain the work environment to a safe standard and to a level that promotes Otraco as a professional team. This means addressing hazards, ensuring housekeeping is always maintained, office space is neat and tidy and shared facility's such as crib rooms are kept clean.
  • HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  • Induct new personnel into the workplace
  • Ensure that all personnel work safely and follow Occupational Health and Safety Procedures,
  • Ensure that all personnel comply with site "lock out" / "tag out" procedures,
  • Investigate hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment reported and take action to eliminate or reduce the risk to acceptable levels
  • Investigate and report all incidents and injuries according to procedures,
  • Ensure that tyre fitters use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment according to procedures,
  • Ensure that tyre fitters perform vehicle Pre-start checks according to procedures.
  • Promote workplace safety by participating in meetings and conducting inspections to improve safety in the workplace and document accordingly
  • Ensure that incident notices and safety information is communicated to tyre fitters
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis and take control actions to reduce the risk of Injury or damage to equipment
  • Maintain and review Safe Work Procedures and ensure they are understood and used by all tyre fitters
