  • As a Registered Aboriginal Party (2009), TLaWC serves to uphold the interests of Taungurung people with respect to culture and Country.

    TLaWC protects Taungurung cultural heritage and provides ongoing support to the community, which includes the development of projects for the economic, social and cultural well-being of Taungurung people.

    Biik Cultural Land Management is the TLaWC natural resource management service delivery enterprise. BCLM is a subsidiary owned by TLaWC and managed as a business by the Biik General Manager.

    BCLM is guided by the TLaWC CNRM strategy. The activities Biik undertakes align with the leading principals of Healing Country, Reading Country, Caring for Country.

    • Primary Function

      The Project Officer will sit within the BCLM team to deliver a number of Landscape Restoration projects that are guided by the Cultural Land Management strategy. This role will engage with the Cultural Land Management team to ensure programs align with TLaWC's strategic and cultural objectives.

      Key Duties

    • Supervise general Natural Resource Management activities such as flora and fauna monitoring and management. This would involve overseeing invasive flora management and planting for a positive effect.
    • On Country biocultural management activities including supporting landscape restoration and biocultural value improvement
    • Contract management - engaging with external stakeholders and clients. Preparing commercial contracts, undertaking site visits, acting as a key point of contact, preparing briefings, reporting on field activity
    • Logistic and operational support for activities including both landscape restoration and other NRM activities to heal Country.
    • Administration duties such as collation and processing of field data and reporting on projects
    • Act with integrity as a part of a cohesive team, upholding TLaWC and Biik Cultural Land Management values.
    • Comply with all safety policies, procedures and work instructions to support a safe work environment for all staff.
