- Duties and responsibilities
Your duties and responsibilities include :
- Installing external telecommunication infrastructure including underground ducts / conduits and pits.
- Installing / hauling external telecommunication cables, both aerial / overhead and underground cables.
- Installing internal cable trays and data cables.
- Installing internal telecommunication devices including switches / routers, NTDs, telephone, and PCs.
- Maintaining telecommunication infrastructure including pits and ducts / conduit pipes.
- Repairing damaged ducts / conduits pipes
- Maintaining the access network, both copper and fibre cables.
- Trenching, Boring and Grundomat operations.
- Asbestos Pit Replacement.
- Removal of non-friable ACM.
- Rod & Roping (Pipe proofing).
- Clearing Blockages in Underground Pipes.
- Locating and exposing buried pits and cleaning them.
- Building joint closures such as DJL, FJL and BJLs for both aerial and underground cables.
- Slicing and testing both copper cables and fibre cables.
- Performing optical power meter, OTDR and Insertion Loss Testing of optical fibres.
- Perform troubleshooting using the OTDR.
- Labelling cables and network devices to required standards.
- Scope of works preparation, material ordering and reconciliation.
- As-Built Documentation including red lines, artefacts.
- Setting up worksites and traffic management, ensuring the safety of the worksites.
- Sound understanding of WHS requirements including SDS, WIs / JSAs / Pre-starts, SWMS & Risk Assessments.
- Qualifications and accreditations
- Rights to Work Australia (Valid Passport and / or valid Visa is required.
- Visa sponsorship is also available
- Construction Industry white card.
- Recent Police Clearance (Must be less than 6 months old).
- Relevant NBN fibre splicing Accreditations (Including skills 9,12 and 13).
- First Aid & CPR.
- Full NSW Driver's Licence.
- ACMA registration.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- CPCCDE3014A (remove non-friable asbestos).
- CPCCBC4051A (supervise asbestos removal).
- At least two years of experience of removing non-friable asbestos.
- Confined Space & Gas Test.
- Power Awareness.
- RIIWHS302D- Implement traffic management plan.
- Working at heights.
- Flu and Covid-19 Vaccinations may be required in Aged Care settings.
- Skills
- OTDR troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read, understand and mark-up telecommunication plans.
- Competent in utilising tablet devices and / or laptops.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus as the roles involve interacting with our customers / clients.
- Ability to operate the high-pressure flush.
- Competent in using manual tools.
- Ability to read DBYD (Dial Before You Dig) plans.
- Ability to locate underground services.
- Ability to operate a Grundomat, jack hammer and other civils equipment.
- Working Hours
- 8 hours a day, Monday - Friday
- Remunerations
