We're responsible for providing our development teams with robust, scalable platforms and tools to deliver world-class products. This includes core infrastructure, developer tooling, fostering best practices, and ensuring operational excellence across our technology landscape. Working with the platform enablement team, you'll collaborate across Engineering—a unique opportunity to work across a 1500-strong team.

The Role The Director of Operations for the Platform Enablement Portfolio is a key leadership role with significant impact. You'll shape operational strategy and execution for critical platforms that underpin all of Xero's products and services. This role influences engineering practices, drives efficiency, and ensures reliability and scalability of our core technologies. You will lead a talented team, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborate organization-wide to deliver exceptional operational outcomes.

What you'll do Be a trusted advisor and respected member of the Product or Technology leadership team, partnering with VPs and SVPs to shape, influence, and execute key business strategies, planning, and operations.Proactively identify, shape, and implement opportunities for strategic and operational improvements across your division and the wider Product & Technology organization.Work with SVPs to engage senior stakeholders across Xero to align and deliver on product or technology-driven outcomes, such as Company OKRs.Drive the execution and continuous improvement of operational and planning rituals, cadence, and activities within your divisions, guiding teams in these processes.Facilitate your divisions to prioritize, measure, report, and act on key metrics, including financial, product, and technical indicators, collaborating closely with relevant business partners.What you'll bring with you Experience working with cloud infrastructure platform teams.Strong understanding of SRE principles and experience applying them to improve system reliability.Ability to define and implement operational strategies aligned with business goals.Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across engineering and product teams.Solid understanding of modern software development practices and operational needs of development teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Why Xero?
