Where the role and team fits in at REA

As an HR Business Partner at REA group, no two days will ever be the same. You will be part of the HR Business Partner team, supporting senior leaders on a range of cyclical people initiatives and strategic projects, while building strong relationships with to advise them on REA's policies, and practices, including performance management and coaching / development.

Using your knowledge of applicable employment laws and practices as well as our policies, you will devise, follow and advise on appropriate protocol for employee relations issues and investigations and develop appropriate investigation documentation and recommendations for Head of People / management to consider.

You'll be a champion of REA's culture and values, partnering with our people managers to help them manage their people. Whether coaching people managers on how to lead their teams or navigating and resolving employee relations issues in a respectful and compassionate way, you will have experience right across the entire employee lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

While no two days are likely to be the same in this role, typical activities will include :

  • Building strong relationships and being seen as a trusted partner working with Head of People, wider P&C team, managers and employees- Assessing and proactively anticipating people needs and an expert at implementing HR solutions in line with business strategy / needs- Providing advice and coaching to managers on general employee relations issues through to formal investigations right across the employee lifecycle- Supporting the planning and rollout of cyclical activities across the group, such as the engagement survey, talent management process, the annual performance and development process, the salary and bonus review processes, and facilitate workshops where required- Working in partnership with the Head of People on key change initiatives such as org design activities or targeted engagement workshops- Being an absolute champion when it comes to harnessing uncertainty and autonomously offering strategies and solutions during times of crisis

All this means you'll need to be able to prioritise like a pro! There's always plenty to do so the ability to work out what's most important and manage expectations with stakeholders will be key. You get the right things done.

Who we're looking for- Extensive business partnering experience within Human Resources; with a solid understanding and track record of relevant Australian employment laws and casework- Previous experience facilitating workshops covering the employee lifecycle experiences - induction, engagement debriefs and action planning, how to set OKRs, team effectiveness etc.- Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers at all levels of the organisation- Someone who thinks critically and are harness uncertainty- Great problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and look at situations through a solutions-focused lens- A team player, who sees the value in collaboration and can work at pace to deliver high quality work- Excellent communicator, who actively listens, shows curiosity and is a confident influencer of stakeholders at all levels- Interest in working both on day-to-day HR tasks and special projects- Comfortable with a rapidly changing environment, and with a strong desire to learn and always looking for ways to improve the experience for our people- Tertiary qualifications majoring in Human Resources or equivalent are desirable.
