The Procurement and Discretionary Payments Branch (PDPB) oversees and maintains the Australian Government's procurement policy framework. PDPB provides advice on the underpinning requirements of the CPRs and related policies and practice to Parliament, the Minister for Finance and other key internal and external stakeholders. PDPB participates in and advises on international trade negotiations in relation to government procurement and manages the whole-of-Government systems AusTender and GrantConnect.
The Branch provides guidance and advice to procuring entities and develops and maintains a number of self-help tools for use by Australian Government entities. The Branch works closely with entities seeking to develop and implement guidance and policies that leverage the procurement framework. The Branch manages an extensive outreach program, which includes Procurement Agency Advice, the Procurement Coordinator function and the Chief Procurement Officers Roundtable.
The Branch also manages act of grace payments and waivers of Commonwealth debts under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
