Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Pre-Sales Solution Engineer, you will interact externally with customers from the Australian Defence Industry with diverse requirements. Internally, you will collaborate with account executives, sales teams, delivery experts, engineers, and peers. Your creativity, active listening, and analytical skills will be crucial in positioning and selling solutions that deliver desired business outcomes and maximum value for customers.

Success in the Role

The primary objective is to support VMware by Broadcom’s sales activities by engaging with customers, building trusted relationships, and identifying customer needs that can be met by VMware’s services, especially around the VMware Cloud Foundation platform. You will develop future state architectures to help customers adopt and meet their objectives around application modernization, automation, and hybrid cloud, maximizing their investment.

In your first 30 days, you will integrate with the ANZ Solution Architect community, learn team functions, and start building relationships. You will receive product training and onboarding. After 90 days, you will become a core member of the ANZ Solutions Architect team, transitioning to a trusted advisor role, creating and presenting customer-facing information, and helping achieve successful business outcomes.

Continuing, you will enhance your technical and soft skills through extensive learning platforms, share your knowledge with peers, mentor junior SEs, and contribute to community sharing. You will also work on solving complex customer requirements and designing outcome-driven transformations and long-term digital roadmaps.

Work Activities

• Engage with customers to understand and challenge their business requirements.
• Map VMware services to customer outcomes, thinking beyond products to tailor end-to-end solutions.
• Apply knowledge in areas like Private Cloud Transformation, Networking, and Application Modernization to build effective relationships, especially with Defence customers.
• Propose architectural designs that consider people and processes, not just technology.
• Present, communicate, and collaborate with account teams and customers through presentations, workshops, and proposals.
• Support sales by developing technical solutions and content for proposals.
• Ensure smooth handover to delivery teams, aligning sales and delivery for customer satisfaction.
• Build adoption and consumption roadmaps to ensure ongoing value and engagement.
• Contribute to account strategy and planning, including running executive briefings.
• Support and mentor team members as appropriate.
• Provide feedback for best practices based on customer discussions.
• Participate in industry events like VMware Explore to promote VMware’s services.
• Set and achieve personal development goals, including authoring blogs and LinkedIn posts.
• Travel as required to visit customers, with minimal travel expected.
