As a Recovery Worker, you will be part of the
- Community Recovery team
- which leads the human and social recovery support efforts, including financial support, emotional assistance, and referral to support services for Queenslanders impacted by disasters.
- Your Role & Responsibilities
As a
- Recovery Worker
- you will be essential in providing on-the-ground support to individuals impacted by disaster events. Key responsibilities include :
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Offering compassionate support to those affected by disasters, with sensitivity to their trauma.
- System Proficiency
- Using data systems for accurate and efficient grant processing.
- Customer Service
- Delivering high-quality support through direct interactions with affected individuals.
- Community Partner Liaison
- Ensuring coordination with community partners to ensure individuals have access to all available support.
- Face-to-Face Interaction
- Engaging with affected communities directly to offer assistance and support.
- Flexibility and Adaptability
- Adjusting to rapidly changing needs and providing effective solutions in ambiguous situations.
- Collaboration
- Working collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
- What We Are Looking For
- Customer Service Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
- System Proficiency
- Strong experience with data entry systems to manage grants and recovery information efficiently.
- Compassion and Sensitivity
- Demonstrating empathy and a sensitive approach when supporting individuals experiencing trauma.
- Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and manage issues effectively.
- Adaptability
- Comfort in managing ambiguity and responding to rapidly changing conditions.
- Collaboration
- Experience working closely with stakeholders, including NGO and community partners, to provide comprehensive support.
