We are looking for an experienced Head of Department – Christian Education with a demonstrated ability to lead a department whilst enabling students to discover how a relationship with God can enable their lives to flourish spiritually, ethically, morally, culturally and pastorally.
About Us
Somerville House is a day and boarding school for girls established in 1899, providing exceptional education for students from Prep through to Year 12, with a co-educational Pre-Prep offering. The Role
The Head of Department – Christian Education is responsible for development of the curriculum from Years 7 – 12 in Christian Education and will collaborate closely with the Head of Junior School (Pre-Prep – Year 6 Curriculum), Senior Chaplain (Theological, Christian Ministry), Dean of Academics (Teaching and Learning) and Christian Education Teaching Staff offering expertise and support. This middle leader position will see you encouraging students to clarify and deepen their understanding of reasons for belief in the Christian Faith as they explore the life application of the good news of Jesus.
This position will commence from 1 January 2026 on a fixed-term, full-time basis for three years, continuing until 31 December 2028.
