- About the role
Based in the Perth, Western Australia, the Systems Interface Engineer will be responsible for implementing the Interface Management Plan on Perth Metro Rail Projects
- Responsibilities will include
- Supporting the Systems Engineering Manager to implement systems engineering and integration processes defined in the LXRP Systems Engineering Management Plan.
- Coordinating all interface management activities for the LXRP.
- Working closely with and engaging the project teams and diverse stakeholders (internal and external), to ensure successful management of interfaces.
- Implementing system lifecycle processes in a way that meets the project's needs.
- Managing resource demand, supply and allocation to facilitate a continuous improvement and learning culture.
- Collaboration with different LXRP teams and suppliers, to resolve technical system interface issues.
- Derive and manage interface requirements.
- Knowledge and Experience
- Good understanding of railway interfaces and how they can affect the performance aspects of the railway.
- Good understanding of the overall design philosophy and lifecycle from concept through to commissioning.
- Good understanding of systems engineering processes.
- Good understanding of equipment layout drawings, general arrangement drawings and other design documentation.
- A Professional Engineer or working towards professional registration via a relevant professional body or industry recognised authority in the discipline (desirable).
- Railway systems integration and interface management experience.
- Requirements management with good working knowledge of requirements management tools (i.e. IBM DOORS) (desirable).
- Verification and Validation (V&V) principles and management activities
- Experience of recording and managing technical interface issues.
- Experience of working with multi-disciplined engineering teams.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external suppliers to achieve a common goal.
