Position : Painter and decorator

Reports To : Site supervisor

Employment duration : At least 2 years (extendable if required)

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional Painter and decorator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of painting tasks, ensuring that all projects are completed with high-quality finishes and in a timely manner. You will work on various surfaces and settings, from residential homes to commercial buildings, both interior and exterior. This role requires precision, an eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces by filling cracks, holes, or joints with putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Smoothing surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers and brushes and covering the windows and furniture using plastic cover sheets and adhesive tape.
• Fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks and smoothing the wood surface.
• Spreading drop sheet to guard spaces from paint splashing over, placing ladders and arranging the required tools for painting the wall surface.
• Removing old wallpaper and paint using paint remover, scarper, wire brush, cleaning fluids, brushes, steel wool, steam, sandpaper and clothes.
• Applying paints to surfaces using brushes and rollers as per customer’s and supervisor instructions.
• Apply wallpaper to the wall using measuring tape and pencil for accurate measurements. Cutting and trimming the wallpaper and paste with it using wallpaper paste and smooth the wallpaper with a brush or plastic smoother.
• Cleaning the work area and tools on the work site.
• Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
