PositionProfile :

We are seeking to appoint asuitably experienced Principal Program Officer to join the Officeof the Deputy Director General (ODDG) team.

In this role, youwill :

  • work aspart of a small team to ensure the efficient daily operationsof the ODDG. You will help ensure that all communications andcorrespondence delivered through the ODDG are of highquality.
  • undertake a strategiccoordination role across the division in response to requestsfrom the Minister for Health, Minister for Medical Research andParliament, the Director General and Deputy Director General,and provide advice and support to the Executive team andDirectorates in these matters.
  • buildand maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders,working consultatively and fostering a collaborative approachacross the division, the Department and WA health system morewidely to facilitate delivery of quality outcomes.
  • coordinate divisionalreporting to ensure the key objectives of the division andDepartment of Health continue to be met.
  • contribute tooperational and business planning for the ODDG, and identifyopportunities to improve divisional administrative processes,and play a leading role in their development andimplementation.
  • providesupport to the Deputy Director General as required, includingcoordination and preparation of correspondence andpresentations, and undertaking research and projects asrequested by the Deputy Director General.

AreaProfile : The Deputy Director General Division providesstrategic direction and coordination on key matters for thedepartment and supports the Director General in leadership andmanagement and the delivery of key government priorities. TheDivision comprises Corporate Services, Health Projects Assuranceand Advisory, Major Health Projects and Infrastructure, the Officeof Medical Research and Innovation and the Office of the DeputyDirector General.
