About The Role
Western Health has nearly 40 Hospital Medical (BPT1) Officer positions (PGY2 / Medical) available for the 2026 Clinical Year.

A dedicated education program tailored to basic training, includes 4 hours per week of structured teaching, in addition to Grand rounds, simulation-based training, and numerous professional development workshops.

Applications
Western Health Basic Physician Training (BPT) positions are recruited as part of the PMCV Match. Applicants must apply to both PMCV and Western Health. Please note, PMCV eligibility criteria apply.
Please Note : if you are successful for a Basic Physician Trainee role, you will be required to enrol with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) by March 2026.
If you do not register with the college, you will potentially jeopardise your training requirements, as your BPT1 rotation allocations may not meet the new National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training requirements. For further details please refer to Description

Western Health also provides the primary healthcare service at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, a women's prison located in Ravenhall.
