Principal Consultant - Transport

DAS is expanding its business in Australia and seeking individuals with a passion for large-scale infrastructure projects to join our team and deliver tailored, technical solutions to complex challenges.

• The Role

We are looking for a Queensland-based individual to support the growth of our transport infrastructure consultancy in the Southeast Queensland region. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to be part of the expansion of our Australian business, where you will help shape the delivery of the consultancy's offerings. Your key responsibilities will include :

• Business Development : Secure contracts through proactive engagement with clients, including responding to RFPs and RFQs, and engaging with industry leaders and other stakeholders
• Delivery of Projects : Take a significant role in delivering complex infrastructure projects, whether as an embedded leader, trusted advisor, or Subject Matter Expert
• Leadership and Growth : Lead the formation and expansion of DAS's infrastructure practice in Queensland, supporting the Practice Lead in setting strategic goals and day-to-day operational activities, including recruitment
• Full Lifecycle Role : Manage all aspects of project work, from converting leads into contracts to successfully delivering projects on time and within scope
• Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, providing clear, practical, and balanced advice on complex transport challenges

• About You

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with extensive experience in transport infrastructure, particularly in the rail, energy, or transport industries. To succeed in this role, you should bring a combination of technical expertise, business development skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. We're looking for someone with the following qualifications and experience :

• Chartered Engineer or RPEQ : An engineering degree and relevant professional qualifications
• Industry Expertise : At least 10 years of experience in the rail, transport, or energy industry, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects
• Client-Focused : Demonstrated ability to win work and own the delivery of solutions, with strong client relationship management skills
• Leadership : Proven ability to lead teams, manage client expectations, and support business growth in a new market
• RFP & RFQ Experience : Experience in responding to RFPs and RFQs, as well as engaging with industry leaders, clients, and stakeholders
• Complex Problem-Solving : Ability to distil complex issues into clear, actionable solutions and provide practical advice
• Business Development : A proactive approach to securing new business, as well as managing a portfolio of clients and projects
