Collette is seeking an Air Coordinator - Australia to join our Air Operations Team. This is a full-time hybrid position based at Collette’s Office located at 16 / 175 Pitt Street, Sydney. Remote candidates with knowledge of airline computer system; preferred Sabre, Amadeus and / or Galileo may be considered.

Job Summary :

Reporting to the U.S. based Manager, Air Operations & Corporate Travel, this position is responsible for managing and supporting the air travel needs of our guests. This includes securing flight schedules, accurately calculating prices, maintaining reservations, and issuing airline tickets. The role also involves assisting with on-tour emergencies and addressing global air operations needs as directed.

Primary Functions :

  • Liaise with individual passengers, group leaders, and travel advisors over the phone, or via email to discuss air travel needs.
  • Secure, price and maintain air reservations for all guests, ensuring all reservations are booked with the best schedules within our priced margins, in a timely manner.
  • Proof all air reservations created by the booking engine and staff to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Action airline schedule changes in a timely manner, assisting with re-protecting passengers when changes no longer meet minimal connection times and / or time restrictions on the tour package booked.
  • Research any issues and determine best action for recovery resolution and report back to Supervisor.
  • Manage air emergencies, assisting passengers with schedule alterations or disruptions while on tour.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Travel team on employee business travel needs
  • Coordinate the issuing of airline tickets for all guests, across all offices.
  • Work with the Air Contracting and Pricing team to facilitate airline meetings, contracting and pricing concerns for outbound Australia.
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned or directed by Manager of Air Operations, Managing Director – Australia or VP of Operations

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the travel industry with knowledge of selling and airline operations, outbound Australia.
  • Certificate in Travel and Tourism or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of air operations, (including creating and modifying air reservations, ticketing, and exchanges), quality control procedures and reporting documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of airline computer system; preferred Sabre, Amadeus and / or Galileo.
  • Skill in customer service.
  • Microsoft Office program experience.
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to include organizing, prioritising, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
  • Ability to plan and organize to optimise productivity.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems.
