About the role
The Manager, Primary leads a team of Principal Project Officers in the development of resources and professional learning activities to support the implementation of the Australian Curriculum by providing quality advice on Prep to Year 6 curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment to support curriculum leaders, teachers and other stakeholders throughout Queensland's education sector.
About the team
The Policy and Resources Development Unit is part of the Curriculum Services Division and has four teams focused on supporting teachers and other stakeholders throughout Queensland to implement the Australian Curriculum. Our aim is to support Queensland teachers to design and implement high quality curriculum and assessment.
Your key responsibilities
- In this role you will
- provide strategic advice related to the Australian Curriculum (with a focus on English, Maths, Science, Technologies and Health and Physical Education) teaching and learning, and assessment in the primary years, and the transition from kindergarten to school
- lead and manage a team to develop and deliver professional development and resources that are responsive to the needs of Queensland teachers and key stakeholders in the education sector
- lead and manage projects within timeframes, using allocated resources within the team and collaborating with officers throughout the QCAA and external participants
- prepare briefings, correspondence and reports on project activities
- create and maintain professional relations between the QCAA and key stakeholders, engaging using multiple channels both online and face-to-face
- participate in and represent the QCAA at forums, workshops and discussion groups
- contribute to a culture of positive performance management by participating in and undertaking regular coaching conversations about conduct and performance with the Director and each member of the team as part of performance and development planning (PDP).
