About The Position

Fixed term roleWe are open to flexibility in offering a 10-month fixed term part time or a fixed term full time position.

The Payroll Officer will join our team based in Melbourne and will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of our end-to-end fortnightly payroll and administrative payroll tasks.

This Position Will Be Responsible For

End to End processing of fortnightly payrollsOn-going maintenance of payroll system and leave planning systemUpdating and maintaining payroll recordsLiaising with staff and management on payroll related queriesMaintaining leave, sickness and overtime reportsInterpreting awards / agreements and contracts in relation to rates, overtime, shift allowanceUndertaking required reporting, both internal and statutory reportingPayroll administration including setting up new employees, answering phone call queries and general administration.Processing increases and calculation of back pays and queriesCalculating Annual Leave and LSL provisions / accrualsAssisting Payroll Manager with end payroll processing responsibilities including month end reconciliationSupporting with reconciliation of payroll related General Ledger accounts

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

Experience in a similar positionExcellent communication skills and attention to detailSound understanding & the ability to interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements, while maintaining a commitment to confidentiality and privacy principlesExcellent organisation and time management skillsAbility to be flexible and work under pressure
