Join our Federal Government's passionate and dynamic team as an EL1 Secretariat Officer providing professional and responsive support for ministerial and high-level executive governance meetings. On offer is a 12-month labour hire contract or section 26 transfer.

  • The Role

As an Assistant Director, you'll play a pivotal role in our small yet high-performing team. You'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of critical portfolio and government issues, directly impacting the Australian community and industry.   • Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality meeting documents, including agendas, briefings, papers, and minutes, often under pressure.
  • Maintain professional and constructive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with other policy, regulatory, and operational areas within the department and across government to achieve organizational goals.
  • Lead and develop the capability of team members to support secretariat duties effectively.
  • Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in complex environments, including consolidating advice from various sources.
  • Experience in secretariat roles or similar, with a background in briefing senior executives and ministers.
  • Strong project management and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and facilitate collaboration.
  • Experience leading and supporting staff in challenging and deadline-driven environments.
  • Skills and Capabilities
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior management and diverse stakeholders.
  • Capacity to provide high-quality advice on complex policy matters.
