Position OverviewA PMO Manager is required to join the EQIP Program team to assist in the planning and delivery of the business transformation and technology foundations projects. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly astute, perceptive and strategic leader who wants to play a key role in shaping up and establishing an emerging data strategy practice and technical capability within the department.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the PMO Manager will manage a team of two Program Support Officers and a Project Scheduler.
Main tasks and activities includeDriving improvements and uplifting PMO capabilitiesDeveloping and implementing robust processes, supporting the overall governance and controlsRefining existing PMO practices in line with department requirements and assisting in the establishment of best practices and frameworksEnsure project financial reporting is accurate and up to-dateSupport project managers in building quality forecasts and ensuring project schedules and costs are captured correctlyRegular, timely and accurate project reporting to key stakeholder groups in accordance with required format and timeframesProactively lead RAID activities, including review and oversight of mitigation strategies, escalations and creation of RAID reporting - for example, through running risk workshops and facilitating and capturing mitigation plansGovernance, quality and assurance managementProgram and project board secretariat functionsProject assurance gate preparationExperience and skills requiredMinimum five years in a similar PMO Manager role;Proven experience building PMO functions within a State Government program;Strong experience creating and overseeing the delivery of large-scale projects of substantial size and complexity;Strong financial understanding with experience overseeing budgets;Proven ability to build positive working relationships and influence key stakeholders;Experience operating within large and complex ICT programs of work with a strong business focusStrong problem-solving facilitation skillsDemonstrated experience working with multiple and different stakeholder groups concurrentlyDemonstrated experience working within transformation programs / projectsHighly developed collaboration skills with business and technical stakeholdersTenacious, well organised and able to manage people effectivelyDemonstrated ability to self-manage with competing prioritiesExperience in M365 tool set, including MS Teams and SharePointUnderstanding of data governance frameworks and data management principles, including technologies and processes, would be highly regardedYour interest will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
