Role Overview

The Corporate Services Branch collaborates across the Policy and Cabinet division (PCD), providing centralised services including financial management, operational support, human resources, and workforce planning. The team offers strategic and governance advice to senior executives, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Services, the Assistant Director will support senior executives with strategic, operational, and administrative functions, and oversee business and financial management of the division.

Eligibility and Requirements

Professional Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in providing high-level corporate functions such as budgeting, finance, HR, and government reporting.
  • Ability to improve business processes and systems in a client-focused environment.
  • Understanding of strategic information, records management, and governance, with the ability to advise senior leaders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for representing the ACT Government and engaging stakeholders.

Behavioral Capabilities

  • Strong strategic, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to ACT Public Service values, workplace safety, and diversity principles.
  • Experience with ACT Government systems is not mandatory but preferred, including familiarity with financial databases like TM1 and Oracle.

    Additional Notes

    A merit pool will be established for future vacancies over the next 12 months. The position operates in an activity-based working environment, with flexible work arrangements, including hybrid, part-time, job-sharing, and flexible hours.
