- About the Role_
The Digital Communication Officer provides a broad range of services to support the Communications Unit to deliver on its communications and corporate goals. This role is key to delivering the digital strategy of the organisation by creating, updating and producing web content that is compliant, accessible and engaging. Working closely with the Digital Production Lead and Digital Product Manager, this role will collaborate with stakeholders to support the varying requirements across multiple business units and contribute to enhancing the user experience.
This role provides you with the opportunity to be part of delivering high quality digital experiences in a rapidly evolving organisation, supporting the delivery of democracy for the people of NSW.
In this role you will :
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and optimisation of content through analysing feedback, data and research.
- Respond proactively to requests, providing support and processing tasks in a timely and effective manner.
- Be a champion for accessible content, adhering to brand guidelines and creating content that is best practice and WCAG compliant.
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to develop and influence their understanding of usability and accessibility issues in the web environment.
- Demonstrate attention to detail through data management and record keeping processes, ensuring administrative requirements are met for managing records and databases.

- Essential Requirements and Key Knowledge and experience_
- A relevant degree and / or considerable demonstrated relevant experience
- Equivalent professional experience in a multi-faceted administrative role requiring attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of content design and optimising the customer experience
- Proficiency in digital tools; CMS platforms (Kentico desirable), Google Suite, SEO monitoring platforms, Microsoft Office and Helpdesk platforms.
- Understanding of web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive design
- Experience in successfully juggling multiple projects with non-negotiable deadlines.
- Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists / third party campaigners.
- Satisfactory criminal record check result.
