Board Member and Finance Committee Convenor (Non-Executive Director)Add expected salary to your profile for insightsBoard Opportunity : Board Member and Finance Committee Convenor (Non-Executive Director)Location : South Australia | Voluntary Position | NFP Governance RoleEBL Disability Services Inc., trading as EllieB's, is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Convenorto our Board of Directors.With over 45 years of dedicated service, EllieB's is a registered NDIS provider and profit-for-purpose organisation delivering permanent and short-term supported accommodation, respite, and day options to people with developmental disabilities.Our VisionWe passionately support individuals and their families to lead fulfilled lives.We are deeply committed to the rights, safety, and well-beingof all children and young people in our care, ensuring safe, stable, and nurturing environments.About the RoleAs a strategic governance role, the Finance Convenorwill guide the organisation's financial sustainability and long-term growth while upholding EllieB's mission and values.

You will also lead our Finance Committeeand engage collaboratively with the Board, Management, and paid Advisors who provide expert guidance in finance, legal, and risk matters.We are a carer-led Boardand a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Wehighly value the lived experience of disability and a strong understanding of not-for-profit.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Oversight : Review reports, monitor performance against budget, and flag financial risksStrategic Planning : Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategiesRisk Management : Assess financial risk and support mitigation planningGovernance : Uphold robust financial practices and regulatory complianceStakeholder Engagement : Effectively communicate financial information across stakeholdersCommittee Leadership : Convene the Finance Committee and contribute to other key governance areasDemonstrated financial expertise, particularly within the not-for-profit or community sectorStrong strategic thinking and ability to interpret complex financial dataClear and effective communication across diverse audiencesPrevious Board or committee experience, with sound governance capabilityUnderstanding of disability, including social, health, and environmental perspectivesRelevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, business, or commerce, and professional membership (e.g., CPA, CA)Key Competencies and KnowledgeAbility to support strategic decision-making with strong financial insightUnderstanding of Director responsibilities—ethical, legal, and fiduciaryKnowledge of human rights and disability legislationFamiliarity with governance, quality, and risk frameworksAwareness of compliance requirements under NFP and NDIS provider regulationsCapacity to identify and mitigate significant organisational risksCommitment and ExpectationsAttendance at Board and Finance Committee meetings (monthly, 11 per year; approx.
