Job descriptionYou will provide strategic coordination and stakeholder engagement to identify and advance Western Australia’s coastal observational and research infrastructure priorities. You will coordinate the integration of WA coastal initiatives within the national CoastRI program, a cross-NCRIS collaboration involving 13 national research infrastructure facilities. You will foster cross-sector partnerships to enhance co-investment, shared use, and long-term planning for coastal infrastructure. The role also involves translating emerging science, policy, and community needs into actionable infrastructure priorities aligned with best practices.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in marine or environmental science, coastal management, coastal engineering, science communication, environmental policy, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Substantial experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, or coordination within the research, environmental or government sectors.
- Experience managing project budgets and financial tracking in research or stakeholder-focused environments (desirable)
- Understanding of coastal science policy and research issues in Western Australia (desirable).
- Experience developing funding proposals or coordinating cross-institutional collaborations.
- Occasional travel within the state may be required.
- Current “C” class driver’s licence.
