About the School

Located south of Sunnybank Calamvale Community College is a P-12 College with 2500 students on a single, extensive campus and is complex in structure. There are 66 cultures represented at Calamvale Community College, over half the students are bilingual and many are mastering English language. We have a diverse community and students who require a broad set of pathways to successful careers beyond school. Calamvale Community College is a truly P-12 College with all leadership roles having an interest in both the primary and secondary schools in which International Baccalaureate programs (Prep - Year 6 and Senior) operate in addition to delivering the Australian Curriculum Years 7-10 and the Queensland Senior Curriculum. About the Role

As Head of Department - English, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks :

• Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
• Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
• Set high standards for student and staff performance.
• Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
• Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
• Be futures oriented and strategic.
• Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
• Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
