- Tewantin State School OSHC is seeking an experienced
- Assistant Coordinator / Educational Leader
- to join our team.
- ABOUT THE POSITION
This position will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development and learning by helping the children develop values, attitudes and ways of living and learning. This will be achieved by providing a high quality of care, activities, and educational elements to those in the program, managing and promoting a team environment and working within the services' philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Coordinator
- Ensure children's learning and development informs the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development
- Liaise effectively with parents, staff, and all internal and external stakeholders
- Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices
- Mentor and support educators understanding of the educational program and practice including how to reflect on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching, and other strategies
- Ensure compliance with policy
- Undertake administrative requirements
- Work collaboratively with Coordinator
- Work collaboratively with families and the school community.
- Act as the Responsible Person of the Service during Service Operation
- SELECTION CRITERIA
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum two years' experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting / OSHC setting
- Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning
- A demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning
- Working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles
- Well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Currently Blue Card
