Position : Electrical Engineer

Salary : $140-160k base +

Company : Tier 1 Contractor

Location : Melbourne or Sydney

Projects : Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Solar farm, Windfarm, HV / EHV Substations & Transmission Lines

Typical Project Size : Minimum 100MW & Minimum 132kv

Our client is a global Tier 1 contractor who has just secured new projects across transmission, EHV substations, and renewables — including solar farms, wind farms, and large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Instead of outsourcing all the electrical design work, they're investing in growing their internal engineering team to bring that capability in-house.

This means new opportunities for a Electrical Engineer who want to be hands-on — directly involved in delivering major projects and seeing their designs come to life.

Key Responsibilities For The Electrical Engineer

Work with the Senior Engineers to oversee the engineering activities and technical design aspects of the projectsConcept and detailed designs, technical investigations, tender assessment & contract technical specificationsAnalyse electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needsFoster a culture of teamwork within the engineering team and across the wider busines to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget

What you'll bring :

Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer on major energy projects (HV / EHV Substations, Transmission Lines, Renewable Energy)Proven detailed design experienceRelevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., BSc Engineering)CPEng or eligibility to obtainMembership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering institution (e.g., Engineers Australia)
