ABOUT THE ROLE
Manage, develop, motivate and lead staff, fostering a positive workplace culture where staff feel engaged, empowered and supported
Ensure the successful daily operation of programs and effective administration of service budgets
Ensure high quality services that provide an environment that supports the dignity and opportunity for clients to be accommodated in a caring, compassionate and secure manner
To help prevent social isolation and encourage participation in outings and community activities.
Supporting participants to be engaged in activities such as recreational activities, visiting family and friends, shopping, attendance at community groups and events .
Developing activities for participants that are unable to access the community to stimulate and promote engagement .
Encourage engagement in activities within the framework of respect of the needs of the participant and promotion of personal choice
In consultation with the participant’s Support Coordinator develop community access support plans
Work with line Manager to identify needs and assess opportunities for quality improvement
ABOUT YOU
A commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
Minimum Certificate IV in Disability / Mental Health or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 2 years experience supporting people with disabilities
Self motivated, high level of initiative and strong work ethic
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people
Sound administration and computer skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
Ability to operate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
Team player, flexible with a positive attitude
Effective problem solving skills, evaluation and conflict resolution skills
A current Driver's License and a registered, insured vehicle
A current First Aid Certificate
NDIS Worker Screening Check is required
NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Training – Worker Orientation Module
