Our client is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for supporting a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.
The Parliamentary, Ministerial and FOI Branch manages the relationship between the Agency and the Minister's Office. It supports the Agency in meeting the Minister's objectives and priorities by providing timely, objective and strategic advice. The branch ensures the Agency are meeting their obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) and for the Participant Information Access (PIA) Scheme.
The APS5 FOI Officer will, under limited direction, assist the team in the coordination of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests made to the Agency and will ensure the Agency meets its legal obligations in relation to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) [FOI Act]. The role will assist the team with Participant Information Access (PIA) requests made to the Agency and contribute to the development of the Agency's information handling requirements. The APS5 FOI Officer will provide quality assurance checks, training, advice and guidance to the team on an ongoing basis and as required, as well as operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in areas. They may undertake some research and analysis activities.
