• About the Role

We currently have an opportunity to join our Environmental Approvals team at either a Specialist or Principal level, based in Perth.

The roles are offered on a 5 : 2 roster, based in the BHP Perth Office reporting directly to Environment Superintendent - Approvals. Intermittent site travel will be required. Flexible work options will be considered.

• The preparation and delivery of environmental approval documentation for submission to government;
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of business-wide standards for environmental approvals documentation;
• Supporting external stakeholder interaction to satisfy environmental approval processes;
• Effectively collaborating with engineers, consultants and internal functions to ensure adherence to develop documentation and maintain schedules; and
• Aligning deliverables with internal business requirements and relevant statutory requirements;
• About You

To be successful in this role you will be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail will be a vital attribute, along with strong business acumen and a passion for excellence.

You will also have :

• Tertiary Qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, coupled with :
• Knowledge of legislative state and federal environmental requirements;
• Experience in environmental management and approvals, with experience in the mining and / or resource sector;
• The ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;
• Exposure to project management, working to timeframes and contractor management; and
• Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to achieve project outcomes.
• GIS capabilities will also be highly regarded.
