Queensland Rail is looking for a Workforce Planning Specialist to join our People Planning team on a temporary full-time basis until 30 / 06 / 2026 (with the possibility of extension). This is an exciting time to join our team and be part of delivering an Enterprise Workforce Planning initiative for the organisation, through data-driven practical solutions to workforce challenges such as skills shortages, technological change and major infrastructure projects.

You will join a small but ambitious team in a large, complex organisation where workforce planning maturity is still developing. That means real opportunities to shape our direction, bring stakeholders on the journey, and design fit-for-purpose workforce strategies that drive business impact. You’ll enjoy the opportunity to partner with the broader People, Safety and Sustainability team and business leaders to :

• Undertake workforce planning activities including workforce segmentation, environment and horizon scanning, and labour market research, to identify critical capabilities and capability gaps.
• Develop actionable workforce plans to meet short, medium and long-term business objectives.
• Assist in developing and implementing processes across the business, by leveraging integrated planning, systems and reporting to understand workforce impacts from changes in demand and supply.
• Maintain and continually improve workforce planning frameworks and tools to ensure consistency and rigour in workforce decisions across the business.
